Pete Simpson – MURCIA – OCT 2019

Just thought i would give you some feedback on our recent trip to Los Alcazares.

Hotel – Costa Narejos, this hotel is perfectly fine for golfers and a good base for travelling to the various courses.

The staff are very friendly and helpful at all times. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, pool are is adequate for the number of guests and again very clean.

Restaurant is a good size, breakfast is typical spanish version of uk breakfast but the continental choice is varied and very good.

Evening meals are buffet style and there is enough choice to find something good to eat every night.

The bar is excellent with a happy hour on weekdays from 5pm through to 7pm, example of prices were 4 large beers 5 €.

Parking is plentiful around the hotel so if there is no room directly outside the hotel there is more just to the left hand side which is all free.

The town of Alcazares is three minutes walk straight across the road from the hotel. The strip has many restaurants and bars to enjoy and for a weeks stay is plenty.

The beach is unfortunately in a mess at the moment due to the floods so the promenade isn’t currently looking its best.

Golf-

GNK resorts

Hacienda Riquelme was very good, the facilities are brilliant and the course was in wonderful condition. Highly recommended

El Valle was also superb, lots of great water features and very good par 3 holes. Course was in great condition and a good test.

Alhama signature was a fantastic course, unfortunately due to the extensive flooding some of the bunkers were closed throughout the course. The clubhouse is very small but adequate and practice facilities are great.

These three GNK courses are all of a high standard and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them.

Hacienda del Alamo, this course had by far the best greens, they were fast and pure. The facilities are great and the course is a real test but very enjoyable. Lots of water but fair and playable, highly recommended.

Lo Romero, this course is very different to the others we played and is more parkland than the desert style of the others. This course is also of a very high standard with great practice facilities and very good greens. The last hole had an island green which is a challenge and a fun way to finish.

All in all a very successful trip at a fantastic price in our opinion.

Thanks once again for a great trip Diane.

Best regards
