Vale do Lobo
Located on the east Algarve near the town of Taviera, the Quinta da Ria golf course designed by William Roquemore Jr, is a spectacular 18 hole golf course within the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. The course runs down to the Ria Formosa with stunning views of the sea and mountains from anywhere along the course. Quinta da Ria is a par 72, comprising two loops of 9, each with two par 5s, five par 4s and two par 3s. Five lakes were strategically built along the course, which prove difficult hazards, as well as providing irrigation for the course. There are more than 300 trees including olive and carob trees on the course which were transplanted to maintain a border.
From the first to the eighteenth hole, you will be challenged to use every club in your bag. The biggest challenge is however, the 10th Hole (Signature Hole) with its 422m PAR 4 – Stroke Index 1. Game strategy is required from the tee to the green. We challenge you to cross over the large tree known as “Love Tree” and reach the green in two strokes!
The back nine holes takes you back to the magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean. The setting is a unique combination of Nature and Golf. Take some time to appreciate the huge variety of wild life that inhabits this area.
