The Montado Golf Course re-opened in 2006 after an extensive renovation and is now rated as one of the most beautiful and competitive golf courses in Portugal.
This 18-hole, par-72 course is laid out over slightly undulating terrain with wide fairways and elevated greens that are dominated by vineyards and oak trees with the odd lake thrown in for good measure.
The par-3 on the eighth hole is a challenge but the highlight of the course is the 18th hole situated on an island.
