Our Choice of The Best Golf Courses In Mallorca

Mallorca is known for its beautiful weather, beach resorts and relaxed island atmosphere – but it also offers some excellent golf. Whether you are looking for a challenging championship layout or a more relaxed holiday round, the island’s courses provide plenty of variety and memorable views.

From classic venues such as Son Vida and Santa Ponsa to modern designs like Son Gual, Mallorca’s golf scene continues to grow in quality and reputation. Many courses welcome visiting golfers and are used to hosting groups, couples and societies from across Europe.

Here are just a few of our favourite courses on the island:

The oldest and probably best-known course in Mallorca, Son Vida originally opened in the 1950s, although it’s gone through a few transformations since then to ensure it remains a course of true quality.

Some of the newer courses may be longer, but the old course offers plenty of challenges thanks to smart design and craftily placed hazards. It’s a championship course, but set-up for golfers of all abilities.

Add to this some quite stunning views across Palma’s shimmering bay, top-class facilities and a course that’s always in pristine condition. One of the best holiday golf courses in Spain and a treat for all who play.

The T Golf & Country Club at Poniente has been a favourite golf destination for visitors to Mallorca for some time.

And with very good reason.

From the moment you arrive at the clubhouse, you feel as though you’re in for a golfing treat. It may be just a short drive from the bustling energy of Palma, but Poniente is a haven of tranquillity and rural beauty. Set across gently rolling hillsides, the fairways cut a path through picturesque pines.

Everything feels refined and delightfully maintained, from immaculate greens to the lakes that gently ripple in the sun (while offering a watery risk to your Titleists). But it’s not just a scenic day out that makes the course such an appeal. There’s plenty to admire in a layout that offers enough to make it a fun challenge for any handicap.

If you’re going to add Son Vida to your golfing itinerary then it makes complete sense to pay a visit to its neighbour, Son Muntaner.

Opened in 2000, the course may not have the history of its illustrious neighbour, but it has quickly developed a reputation as a quality, challenging course in its own right.

Typically for a golf course in Mallorca, it’s always in tip-top condition, offering a few nice flourishes in its design, from hourglass greens to stony dykes. And, at more than 6,400m it’s a course of considerable length for the club golfer, yet a range of tees ensures a fair challenge for low, medium and higher handicaps.

A challenge, a treat and a great day’s golf for all.

The Thomas Himmel designed course is one of Mallorca’s newer golf destinations but has quickly garnered a reputation as a course visitors really need to play.

It’s a bit of a beast at 6,600m in length, offering a championship style golfing experience and some truly jaw-dropping holes across the par-72 track. And, in the long, dramatic par-5 18th, with a knee-trembling approach and plenty of water to hold your interest, it boasts one of the great holes in the region.

A stunningly crafted course that blends the natural surroundings with well-thought course architecture. Add this course to your golf holiday and you will be in for a genuine thrill and golfing treat.

Given its proximity to the holiday towns of Santa Ponsa and Palma Nova, and as a past destination for the European Tour, this has long been one of the more popular golfing destinations in Mallorca.

There are two courses in the resort, but it’s Santa Ponsa 1 that we especially love for its championship challenge and imaginative layout. There’s plenty of risk and reward to be had, yet still retains appeal for low and high handicappers alike, thanks to its quality conditions and a general sense of golfing fun to be had. Long holes like the whopping par-5 10th are tempered by wide fairways and the greens run smoothly to reward good putting.

Add to its convenient location near the holiday resorts and this is an ideal mix of fun and quality golf for any group tour to Mallorca.

The third and newest course on the Arabella complex that comprises Son Vida and Son Muntaner, Son Quint is another course ideally set up for the holiday golfer.

Offering stunning views across Palma, Son Quint’s popularity comes from its appealing mix of length (more than 6,400m), beautifully kept conditions and a forgiving layout that gives all golfers the chance to score well.

It’s resort golf, close to the heart of Palma and an ideal venue for those looking to ensure all golfers in the party can enjoy a day on a well-maintained course, in a relaxed environment and an entertaining retelling of tales at the bar afterwards.

With its combination of great golf, coastal scenery and welcoming resorts, it’s easy to see why thousands of golfers choose Mallorca every year. It’s a superb option for couples, small groups and societies alike. To start planning your Mallorca golf holiday, simply contact our team and we’ll help you put together the ideal package.
