Manuel Pinero has made the most of the surroundings when designing Calanova’s 18 holes and has come up with a course that medium handicap players will find is a pleasure, yet challenging to play. Strategically placed bunkers and lakes populate the course and its hard to believe this green and tranquil sanctuary is only minutes from the coastal village of La Cala. Calanova is a diverse 72 par course, with par 4 holes from 225 to 405 metres. There are six holes with doglegs to the left, five holes with doglegs to the right and seven straight holes, four of which slope downhill. Pinero seems to have designed a course to reflect the natural geography of the land and offer some degree of risk.
