AMARANTE GOLF COURSE
The 18-hole Amarante golf course, designed by the Portuguese architect Jorge Santana da Silva, opened in 1997. Only 45 minutes from Porto and 1 hour from the Douro valley, this course is surrounded by unspoilt nature, an extraordinary landscape which also includes several waterfalls.
Although being 600 metres above sea level, this course offers a relaxing game as the design limits the climb to a minimum. Hole 4 must be mentioned due to being a par 4 for 306 metres but still offering a challenge to the golfer. From the greens of holes 9 and 18, the landscapes overlooking these holes are of natural beauty.
The modern and elegant club house offers a relaxing environment for golfers and non-golfers alike and panoramic views of the course where an after or pre-golf drink and menu are on offer.
