Dom Pedro Millennium
Golf Course in Algarve
The Dom Pedro Millennium Course, formally part of the Oceanic group.
This conventional Par-72 course opened in the year 2000, although the completely refurbished back nine holes, formerly part of the 27-hole Laguna Course had been completed in their original configuration a decade before.
There is a very attractive and challenging tree-lined section that contains a couple of the best holes in the Algarve. But there are also many holes with open fairways that invite you to get the driver out and there is some water to spice things up. Destined to become one of Portugal’s most attractive and interesting layouts, a great deal of forethought went into planning the Millennium Course.
Located in a beautiful setting within the pinewoods and natural countryside, it is a test that offers variety and interest for the golfer. The Martin Hawtree design is a pleasure to play and is noted for its subtle greens. The par 3 6th is a great short hole with a lake waiting for any stray shots. Overall, it’s a very enjoyable course that doesn’t challenge you to the limit, but is certainly no push-over either, and has lots to keep you interested.
