Designed by Arthur Hills, his goal was to create one of the finest golf experiences in Europe, all within the elegant natural framework inherent to Quinta da Marinha. Oitavos Golf is a spectacular course set amongst pine woods and reforested dunes, in an area of great natural beauty. The routing is a continuous loop of holes, nine out nine in, similar to linksland courses in Scotland. The sequence is an undisturbed golf experience from start to finish. Distant views of the Atlantic Ocean and the nearby Sintra mountain are distinguishable from every hole. With it's generous sweeping fairways, greens protected by horseshoe dunes and crooked trees from the wind, the courses is nothing but enchanting, playing like a traditional links that has weathered the elements for decades.
