The Old Course is rated amongst the finest in Europe. The greens are fast, contoured and true, rewarding well-judged putts and punishing anything else. Acknowledged for its challenge throughout Europe, The Old Course provides a test for the very highest standard of golfer. Playing The Old Course is something every golfer will remember. The new course is a challenge for scratch and low handicap golfers but that is also possible for higher handicap players to enjoy. To that end each hole has five different tee positions and fairways that are wider than those on The Old Course. Nevertheless, these fairways are designed to reward canny tactics and skilful drive placement. Water hazards guard four of the greens, also defended by more than a hundred strategic bunkers, which lie in wait for wayward or ambitious drivers.
