Designed by Dave Thomas, the Almenara golf course is located slightly inland from Valderrama and from its lofty perch it overlooks both the Ryder Cup host club and the nearby The San Roque Club. This 27 hole golf course is set in the upper part of Sotogrande yet still only five minutes from the beach. Surrounded by cork, oak trees and wild pines, the wooded terrain so typical of the Sotogrande area, there are also several streams as well as a natural lake, making for testing water hazards and undulating greens, all of which serve to make this a very beautiful course, a challenging course with stunning views.
