The PGA de Catalunya golf course was voted one of the ten best golf courses in Europe in 2001 by Golf World magazine. This stunning course has the Pyrenees as a backdrop, which only adds to the beauty. Built in the Gerona mountains near the small town of Caldes de Malavella, set on undulating land with evergreens, oak trees, beautiful green fir, scrub and purple heather lining most fairways. The course is designed with water hazards and boarded island greens. PGA Catalunya golf course was designed by Neil Coles and Angel Gallardo and after only opening at the end of 1998, has already hosted the Sarazen World Open in 1999 and the Spanish Open in 2000. The PGA Catalunya is a technical course which suits both amateurs and professionals alike and boasts some truly spectacular holes, it is the ultimate challenge, and is a must for those who like to play the great courses.
