This is an urban course situated just 3km from Alicante city. It has one 18-hole par-72 round and another 9-hole par-3 round, with second 18-hole course in the pipeline. Other facilities offers are a practice course, an approach course, putting green and an international golf school. Opened in November 2000, El Plantio features tight fairways, 3 lakes, an abundance of trees and many hidden bunkers which makes accuracy very important although the greens are a good size. Without any buildings within, the whole of the course is liberally covered with vegetation, the quality of the design, by Manuel Ferri Sanchez, and the excellent condition of the greens and fairways really stand out.
