In the far Southeastern corner of the Iberian peninsula is the sun-baked province of Almeria, with the highest hours of sunshine and lowest rainfall in Europe. Given the climate of Almeria, its no surprise that much of the province is comprised of semi-arid desert-like landscape. Coast of Almeria
In Almeria city it's self you will find a modern and vibrant feel, a bustling City with quality restaurants, hotels and service. Almeria has recently become more of a tourist destination than it used to be, however it has by no means lost any of it's traditional Spanish culture. The people here are very friendly in comparison to further down the coast, however be prepared to practice your Spanish, as English is spoken much less in this area, than in the bigger tourist destinations further down the Coast.
Almeria holds on well to it's traditional charms and is an area of outstanding beauty despite it's hot and arid conditions. From a golfers point of view the course developed here are of outstanding quality and design and a dream to play on, many of our clients return to this area year after year, some have even commented that Almeria is the only place to go, to experience "The real Spain".
Maybe it's only drawback is that, in the height of summer, expect it to be HOT! Summer temperatures in Almeria can reach over 38c, in temperatures like these, a round of golf can be similar to an assault course. However come before June, or after late September and you will find a much more pleasing climate, with summer lasting a little longer than elsewhere on the Cost, perfect for a winter getaway.
